The Challenge

Launching a brand-new restaurant into one of Nairobi's most competitive dining markets.

Tinaar is a bold concept — Middle Eastern-inspired food rooted in fire, spice, and traditional clay-oven cooking — but no one in Nairobi knew the name yet. The challenge was to build anticipation, tell the story compellingly, and make the launch feel like a cultural moment rather than just another restaurant opening.

In a city where new restaurants open every week, standing out requires more than a nice menu and good lighting. It requires a content strategy that builds a community before you open your doors.

The Execution

A launch that felt like an event.

We built the launch content strategy around the story of the name itself — Tinaar, the ancient clay oven — creating a narrative that connected the cooking method to Nairobi's appetite for genuine, high-quality experiences.

The campaign was structured in phases: teaser content to build anticipation, behind-the-scenes content showing the restaurant coming to life, and launch content designed to drive walk-ins and reservations on day one.

  • Multi-phase launch content strategy and execution
  • Teaser campaign building anticipation before opening
  • Behind-the-scenes launch storytelling series
  • Launch day content and social media rollout
  • Short-form food video production for TikTok and Instagram
  • Ongoing social media management post-launch

"We wanted the launch to feel like a moment, not just an opening. Kontent made that happen. The anticipation they built through the teaser content meant we had a full house from day one — and people were already talking about us before we opened."
